A Shimba Hills National Reserve Day Trip is an ideal choice for an adventerous holiday! Your adventure starts with our driver picking you up from your hotel in the early morning around 06:30am. We then depart together for the Shimba Hills National Reserve.

During a game drive, you will get a chance to see the rare Sable Antelopes (which are exclusively found here), Buffaloes, Elephants, Giraffes, Impalas, Colobus Monkeys and different bird species. On a clear day, you can see the outline of the magnificent Usambara Mountains in Tanzania. An experienced ranger will then take you to the Sheldrick Waterfalls. To get to the waterfalls, we will have to walk for approx. 2km. Please take note that you have to be sufficiently physically fit and healthy. The view compensates us for our efforts, and the shower at the waterfall will feel twice as refreshing.

After visiting the Sheldrick Falls, we will be on our way for a game drive en-route to Shimba Lodge for lunch. Shimba Lodge is famous for being the only “tree lodge” in Kenya’s coastal rain forest. The design won many awards for almost exclusively using wood for construction and thereby creating a stunningly warm and relaxed atmosphere. After lunch, the nearby Elephant pool invites us for a stroll. Comfortably taking a rest while observing the wild animals certainly is a wonderful experience. Later we embark on a game drive en-route as we go back to Mombasa/Diani, where we safely deliver you back to your hotel in the late afternoon.
