"Red Elephant" Safari
Short Description and Price
This wonderful private safari takes you to famous Tsavo East National Park, an epitome of East African beauty. All Big Cats, Giraffes, Zebras, more than 500 different species of birds and many more animals flourish in the park’s savannahs. But what Tsavo East is best-known for are the “Red Elephants” that call the park home. They owe their rather fancy colour to the bright-red soil which covers the park and which the Elephants use to protect their sensitive skin from insects and the sun.

Day 1: Mombasa/Diani – Tsavo East National Park
Our driver will comfortably pick you up from your hotel at 6:30am in the early morning. We then start of together to Tsavo East National Park, where we arrive in time for a spectacular morning game drive with chances to spot Red Elephants, Lions, Buffaloes, Hippos, Giraffes, Gazelles, Waterbucks, Leopards, Zebras and an abundance of bird species. Game spotting in Tsavo East is usually fast and easy. After the morning game drive, we check in at our accommodation for lunch. We have time to relax and dip into the inviting swimming pool, then head for an exciting game viewing trip in the late afternoon.
There are many fascinating aspects to observe in the open areas of Tsavo East, such as the Yatta Plateau, one of the world’s longest lava flows. An additional attraction is the Athi River flanked by stately Doum palms which, near the Manyani gate, forms the Lugard Falls, a long stretch of rippling white-water cataracts and a favorite haunt for sunbathing Crocodiles.
